Yeah. I understand the uppers had evil intent. But why did almost everyone go along with it? Were they blinded by their belief in absolute good, whether via religion or scientism? I am still perplexed why people still fall for this crap, as bad it's become!

Cut off funds for things like getting married, missing out on medication, side income, etc. Voila. A prison/asylum without walls. We--the mental health consumers--were the prototypes.
It's crazy that we knew from studies a while ago that serotonin is not what makes you happy and the SSRIs don't work.
