I'm in the US, in a mostly red state. I actually was at the doctors today.
There is no talk of c0vid. Every once and and a while I see someone with a mask, but it is rare. I have not been asked about testing positive for c0vid in at least two years. The signs at stores and notices about social distancing are gone. I think a lot of this depends on where you are, and the politics of that specific area.

I don't disagree with what you say, although for me to know if Desmet is being interpreted well, I'd have to take a deep dive into his work and that's not something I'll do. As far as Malone is concerned he has always felt somewhat shadowy, dark and a bit self imploded, for me to give him my time.

Where are 'we' spending our time? I personally don't do drugs of any kind. It's never felt intuitively okay to me. I'm almost done reading your book on Guilt Shame and Anxiety, which I would highly recommend to people struggling in general. I bring this up because I believe the perception that harms are self-inflicted is an illusion created by people's negative coping mechanisms to tyranny, and other downstream effects. I think the biggest challenge moving forward is going to be all the ways in which the system tries to convince people to blame the victims.
FYI, it was one of Dr. Breggin's early interviews (perhaps on Infowars) about Desmet that helped me see how very wrong he was about everything and made me question Desmet's character. Thank you!

I have not delved deeply into Desmet after watching one online interview, I found his presentation vague, amorphous. And I became immediately incredulous as he began framing populations as being responsible for

I'm in the US, in a mostly red state. I actually was at the doctors today.
There is no talk of c0vid. Every once and and a while I see someone with a mask, but it is rare. I have not been asked about testing positive for c0vid in at least two years. The signs at stores and notices about social distancing are gone. I think a lot of this depends on where you are, and the politics of that specific area.

The people who step forward to disagree with government policies allowing totalitarian intervention said to “remedy” the imaginary condition of mass psychosis, will be diagnosed as having mental illness and needing medical intervention. One suggestion I have is to put Desmet's words in quotes to make it a little more clear.
I also want to say something that won't be popular and possibly will be misunderstood.
And I know from your perspective it's very different as you are in the profession and the last years have cost you. (although they have cost us all) And knowing Malone has cost you personally.
I haven't been reading much on the stack, just a few pieces here and there. Scanning headings mostly and wondering if I should be doing even that.
What I feel in a post like this is that it feels very insular (?), as if one is being trapped in a dysfunctional family and an endless argument. I don't disagree with what you say, although for me to know if Desmet is being interpreted well, I'd have to take a deep dive into his work and that's not something I'll do. As far as Malone is concerned he has always felt somewhat shadowy, dark and a bit self imploded, for me to give him my time.
So what am I saying?
Where are 'we' spending our time? I personally don't do drugs of any kind. It's never felt intuitively okay to me. Nor do I alter my consciousness with substances, I have enough trauma (this present moment included) to keep me working to stay whole and grounded without substances to slide me sideways.
So what am I saying? Are we swimming with monsters, dancing with distractions, being pulled from the beauty of being too easily in this fleeting moment called life?

I'm almost done reading your book on Guilt Shame and Anxiety, which I would highly recommend to people struggling in general. I bring this up because I believe the perception that harms are self-inflicted is an illusion created by people's negative coping mechanisms to tyranny, and other downstream effects. I think the biggest challenge moving forward is going to be all the ways in which the system tries to convince people to blame the victims.

A conscious being is not duped by deception however subtle if he is not looking for a way out of reality, the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. Evil feeds off of this. I have not delved deeply into Desmet after watching one online interview, I found his presentation vague, amorphous. And I became immediately incredulous as he began framing populations as being responsible for
the distress they feel under political/social manipulation and corruption! I was sorry to see Malone cite Desmet as an original or important thought leader during these times.
In this David and Goliath effort, we continue to need strategic and repeated efforts to hold the mirror up to “leaders” who willfully engage in government/corporate corruption.
