Love is our reason for being. In my opinion there is nothing more important than love. It is nourishment for the soul. I can remember being four years old, when my grandmother told me God is Love...and God loves you. The 1930s were very cold times and I didn't hear anyone say to me, "I love you"...and I don't remember being hugged. How did I know what love was as a 4 year old? However, her words really made me feel good, when she said, "God loves you!" Love is something children need. When I had children I held them and told them how much I loved them a lot.

A resounding, "YES!"

Do believe the Breggin's have led the way; helped many to return to or find our traditional, family-oriented Judeo-Christian Faith in the west.

Your words are sweet to ears exhausted with the overwhelming evil confronting Earth as never before in this last decade. Though the fight isn't over, you allow all in our world to know we're not alone and in love and courage of conviction in the Holy Spirit...We can stand together in force to win this battle of our age against the 'Foul Fiends'.

Dear Breggins, I love you (from Australia). I think as Christians, we must accept that we cannot love God or another person if we disobey God's rules. In effect, the Ten Commandments, and the rules which Jesus gave us, define the perimeters within which loving can occur. We need to understand that disobedience to God's rules will hurt another person, and cannot be part of being truly loving ourselves. True love cannot, for example, be separated from being faithful to one's husband or wife. This is very important in a culture which thinks (wrongly) that love can be expressed in ways expressly forbidden by God.

Revelations 22:15 "

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."

These people are capable of love, and even expressing it, but are outside of the gates of the City of God because they perverted and polluted the gifts that God gave them. We try in vain to save ourselves and others when in reality we all need the Savior to turn us from our wicked ways. The Breggin's articulated some very sound and spiritual points of light and love, and I am grateful to them for both the proof's and reproof's to show what we are supposed to be living in the loving and loving in the living. If they know we are Christians by our love, we are also mindful that they hated and persecuted him before we submitted to his will for our lives. The Holy Bible is the best book on human psychology in my opinion because when you know them by their fruits, there is lot of firewood out there, but there are those who also cling to that old rugged cross. Jesus will always be my Lord, King, Lawmaker, savior and example of how to walk in his spirit. I no longer pay much attention to those who chose the way of the oppressor as they are not my example, and they ought to thank God that I'm not theirs. I will keep my eyes on the author and finisher of my faith and let the world fade like water under the bridge.

God came in human form Jesus Christ because HE loved us first (dying on the cross for our sins). If HE didn’t come and die for us we wouldn’t be able to love ourselves or anyone in the purest way! When we believe (repent) JESUS comes inside and the Holy Spirit helps us! We still may fail at times because only CHRIST JESUS came as the only perfect sacrifice and it’s by HIS grace that helps us move forward to overcome obstacles in our ways (the world) and through daily praying and petition we see how much God loves us! For God did not come to condemn the world, HE came to save it! Without HIS death and resurrection giving us grace we would all be doomed!

Thank you. Beautiful article. I am just finishing Eric Metaxas's book " If you can keep it" - about how our founding fathers well understood a government for and by the people could only exist within the context of the beliefs and morals of a Judeo Christian society. Sadly, they assumed such strong morals would persist.

Abraham Joshua Heschel and Morris Bermann influenced my thinking greatly. They lead me to a conclusion that our 'issues' stem from a basic false assumption about reality. Society declared formally and less formally that the spiritual and the material are fundamentally different. That God is far away. If collectively, we were to assume that the spiritual and the material are similar we might build the world differently where we better understand how the subtle may come into manifest existence and vice versa. Love is the most helpful vehicle.

The spiritual and the material are like the theta ϴ in Greek, two parts of a whole, rather like an egg.

The lowest common denominator of love is justice or fairness. God / Creator made the earth. We should share the earth as the equal birthright of all. Warfare or Earth Share, that is the question. "Unlike most other creatures". Other creatures are free in their packs, one creature do not dictate millions, each member can leave the pack and be on its own, no vaccine mandated, they not this stupid to invent vaccines, no wars with weapons that can kill millions. The only creatures that follow Nature or God by the instinct given to them, man is loosing that. Man invents all kinds of God's and do wars over it and one could go on and on how stupid the wo-man creature is. Its oversized brain getting so complex to the point Canadian philosopher Ian Hacking famously declared in the seventies that "humans will not be wiped by a nuclear war but by some sort of a mental illness". The political Left represent this mental illness already. If they ever come to a total power, kill free speech, liberty of the individual, it will be over for the Homo Sapiens .Tribalism is deadly. Only individual thought in each can save humankind.
