I am angry beyond words that $8 billion of our taxpayer money off to Ukraine when our American citizens are in such dire need. Nothing said or done thus far by our government officials is of value to these citizens. Thankfully, my parish rector is dedicating masses this Sunday to those suffering and in need with a special offering to Samaritan’s Purse to be taken. I feel powerless in the face of this and only desire to help. I know so many people feel the same.
People should have voted and taught their kids to make their choice and VOTE. I am reading that as of today, Wednesday, there are military helicopters that have not yet been authorized to assist, so that the great bulk of helicopter traffic is volunteer civilian at their own expense. And helicopters are often the only way to reach many of the remnants of these mountain communities with search and rescue and relief workers hitching rides in.
