Nearly everyone I know is now on some sort of "anxiety assistance." Last one was a friend who has been a health advocate all her life, but is now going through a tough time due to selling a property and downsizing. Her first appointment with a new primary care Dr resulted in a Lexapro script. Unbelievable.

It's the latest antidepressant craze and as dangerous as other SSRIs. Folks can see Dr. Breggin's book: Medication Madness for details of hazards and adverse reactions -- Ginger

Ashwagandha is a great supplement for anxiety and isn't harmful. Do some research.

Also IтАЩve heard about GABAтАж. Need to learn more, thoughтАж

Which diet are you on for anxiety?

IтАЩve done L-Theanine, to avoid anxiolytics in the past.

IтАЩve used ashwagandha, but staying away for now because i am on a specific diet (a certain diet itself can help a body) and need to avoid for a while.

Which special diet? I think doing a new diet for whatever you need is a great thing to do.

My doc has me on ~45% protein, ~45% vegetables (including starches like potatoes), 10% low-sugar fruitsтАж. Includes good fats like nuts, seeds, use of coconut oil/avocado oilтАж no grains; no sugar, no riceтАж avoid peanuts, soy, pistachios, cashews, legumes, leafy greensтАж

Ideally grass-fed organic meats, wild-caught fish, pastured and organic eggs

Sounds pretty similar to my keto diet but I also eat some nuts and seeds but never soy since I learned about coconut aminos. Good luck with it!

Awesome! Same here, with you! I know every body is different, as well, but learning about the importance of high quality proteins and fats! Yeah apparently soy has the highest contamination of pesticides than any other food and have a lot of estrogensтАж. IтАЩve not heard of coconut aminos!

So right. I am SO TIRED of hearing тАЬI have anxiety.тАЭ So? Get control of yourself and deal with LIFE. Children today arenтАЩt taught to do that because mommy and daddy take away all the barriers (if they are around at all with the divorce rate and then they are hunting for their new honey while Ignoring their child.)

IMHO, the downside to all of the wonderful conveniences and niceties we've enjoyed in recent decades is that most people have lost all ability to be the least bit uncomfortable. I know people who won't do any form of time restricted eating, because getting through the first hunger pang is too difficult. I once heard an interview about the characteristics of world-class athletes. The one trait they all shared was "the willingness to suffer." The ability to sit with discomfort, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual, is key to any real health or progress. [end rant, lol...]

Absolutely. I get the monthly magazine from Voice of the Martyrs which strikes me to my soul every time I read a story. We are ALL so frigginтАЩ spoiled, pampered and lazy. None of us could last 15 minutes where the majority of African or SE Asians live. They live in fear for their and their familiesтАЩ lives every single day. Buddhism, Hindus and Muslims hate Christians and persecute and kill them for their faith and make daily living a severe struggle.

It is hard on their friends when someone "takes a wrong turn." Just what is your friend up against with Lexapro? This is Lyle Murphy of the Alternative to Meds Center giving the ins-and-outs of Lexapro.
