It was so bad at one point, having gone on so long and having been put through soooooo much (it would take a library of writing to document it all) that I started shoving the money back at people who wanted to feel good and LEAVE ME OUT THERE. “I don’t want your stinking money, I want a place to live!” Then they’d tell me about the local shelter or Mission, which was of course run by CHURCHES, which by that point I avoided like the plague bc couldn’t afford any more traumas. And they’re all in bed with PSYCHIATRY to boot. That’s the Gestapo. And then I could not check into a shelter anywhere for fear of being tracked back to a court order to be forcibly psychiatric drugged after I survived being locked up and forcibly injected in a psych ward for LITERALLY NO REASON AT ALL BUT RACISM AND HAVING NO FAMILY TO CALL AND BETWEEN THE RACIST COWORKERS PLAYING A NASTY ON WHITEY, THE NURSING HOME THINKING I WAS GONNA WHISTLEBLOW BC I DID A GOOD JOB, AND STATE OF N.J. I was afraid I was never going to get my hearing back, for one. I was left partly deaf in one ear and almost completely dead in the other from the damages…. Eventually I gained back the hearing. Took about 6-7 years. That last not mentioning the SLOUGH of other devastating health problems I was left struggling with alone for decades…. But guess what that has done FOR ME? I’m now an expert at healing from a multiple range of just about anything a person can struggle with. There’s an encyclopedia of knowledge in my head that can help ALLL KINDS of people. I WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC SO NO HUMAN BEING EVER HAS TO SURVIVE THIS KIND OF THING. The greatest ideal would even be to be a builder of COMMUNITY. Churches are never going to help anyone, they are a club for the rich, they only care for their own families, and keep people who fall on misfortune in the victim role -- it's what they do! My ancestors for a thousand years were Christians who never had churches -- they had COMMUNITY and FAMILY, they were against the institutions FOR GOOD REASON! My life story has been a first hand lesson in exactly what drove my ancestors to sacrifice their lives for freedom of religion! And the saddest part is their offspring inherit THIS. My ancestors also fought slavery, and died in The Revolutionary War, for whatever that was worth. I've never had a family life at all, because I REFUSE TO BE A DRUG ADDICT! Some churches are. A lot of the megachurches are what you describe.
But there are good churches that practice what they preach.
Of course that depends on what your definition of a church is. A dozen people that meet in private homes counts as one. A church is a body of believers that meet together. Not a building.
I’ve been everywhere. It’s exhausting to even remember.
I can remember one time I was in Kentucky and a little four square church was great to me. They totally took me in and set me up with an affordable apartment. I got a kitchen job at a hotel while illegally hiding in college dormitories until I’d hung out at the church enough for us all to get to know one another.
I’d gone to that town originally to check out a college there but could not get the scholarship. Living alone in the apartment with yet another dead-end kitchen job, going to a church full of married people with kids at that point in my life was more than I could bear, while still in the throes of battling chronic viral infection and couldn’t talk or do anything about it… never being able to have family at that age especially…. Not to mention already a head full of bad memories not fitting in anywhere….. I left, I kept trying to connect to my blood relatives…. Another ugly story I won’t even bother with here.
I guess acceptance at this point, God put me in a beautiful place here right now, plenty of everything physical I need, the best of. Some people are just born to be excluded I guess, that’s just how it works when you come from messed up family dynamics.
The "church" is the people, not a building, not a theology. If we can just be kind to one another, and give as we would want to receive. Our humanity has to reign!

No tragedy lessens the horror of any other tragedy. A friend and her son are from the affected region - no government assistance yet, though everything destroyed - lucky, at 78 with a major heart condition plus arthritis, that a daughter and her husband have space for her so she can sleep on their recliner.
And FEMA and Children's Protective Services have reportedly colluded to remove hundreds of children from the area. You won't find much on this, but it's true evil. Heartless.

I have been wondering about the tiny houses the Amish set up. The local bean counters had them destroyed on the grounds that they lacked electricity and running water.
Would it be possible to take up a collection to have those things installed? The Amish--bless their kind hearts--probably don't know about it. Being Amish. But it's easy to install electric heat, lighting and even water systems and toilets similar to campers as far as tiny homes go. Much cheaper than you would think.

It was so bad at one point, having gone on so long and having been put through soooooo much (it would take a library of writing to document it all) that I started shoving the money back at people who wanted to feel good and LEAVE ME OUT THERE. “I don’t want your stinking money, I want a place to live!” Then they’d tell me about the local shelter or Mission, which was of course run by CHURCHES, which by that point I avoided like the plague bc couldn’t afford any more traumas. And then I could not check into a shelter anywhere for fear of being tracked back to a court order to be forcibly psychiatric drugged after I survived being locked up and forcibly injected in a psych ward for LITERALLY NO REASON AT ALL BUT RACISM AND HAVING NO FAMILY TO CALL AND BETWEEN THE RACIST COWORKERS PLAYING A NASTY ON WHITEY, THE NURSING HOME THINKING I WAS GONNA WHISTLEBLOW BC I DID A GOOD JOB, AND STATE OF N.J. I’m now an expert at healing from a multiple range of just about anything a person can struggle with. There’s an encyclopedia of knowledge in my head that can help ALLL KINDS of people. I WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC SO NO HUMAN BEING EVER HAS TO SURVIVE THIS KIND OF THING. The greatest ideal would even be to be a builder of COMMUNITY. Churches are never going to help anyone, they are a club for the rich, they only care for their own families, and keep people who fall on misfortune in the victim role -- it's what they do! I can't stress this enough! Churches, psychiatry, government leeches are ALL IN BED TOGETHER. My ancestors for a thousand years were Christians who never had churches -- they had COMMUNITY and FAMILY, they were against the institutions FOR GOOD REASON! My life story has been a first hand lesson in exactly what drove my ancestors to sacrifice their lives for freedom of religion! And the saddest part is their offspring inherit THIS. My ancestors also fought slavery, and died in The Revolutionary War, for whatever that was worth. I've never had a family life at all, because I REFUSE TO BE A DRUG ADDICT! Some churches are. A lot of the megachurches are what you describe.
But there are good churches that practice what they preach.
Of course that depends on what your definition of a church is. A dozen people that meet in private homes counts as one. A church is a body of believers that meet together. Not a building.
I’ve been everywhere. It’s exhausting to even remember.
I can remember one time I was in Kentucky and a little four square church was great to me. They totally took me in and set me up with an affordable apartment. I got a kitchen job at a hotel while illegally hiding in college dormitories until I’d hung out at the church enough for us all to get to know one another.
I’d gone to that town originally to check out a college there but could not get the scholarship. Living alone in the apartment with yet another dead-end kitchen job, going to a church full of married people with kids at that point in my life was more than I could bear, while still in the throes of battling chronic viral infection and couldn’t talk or do anything about it… never being able to have family at that age especially…. Not to mention already a head full of bad memories not fitting in anywhere….. I left, I kept trying to connect to my blood relatives…. Another ugly story I won’t even bother with here.
I guess acceptance at this point, God put me in a beautiful place here right now, plenty of everything physical I need, the best of. Some people are just born to be excluded I guess, that’s just how it works when you come from messed up family dynamics.
The "church" is the people, not a building, not a theology. If we can just be kind to one another, and give as we would want to receive. Our humanity has to reign!

A friend and her son are from the affected region - no government assistance yet, though everything destroyed - lucky, at 78 with a major heart condition plus arthritis, that a daughter and her husband have space for her so she can sleep on their recliner.

They would actually be better off with no government "help' at all. If FEMA would pull out and quit interfering they could do a better job of helping each other and receiving help from private citizens and charities like Samaritan's Purse. FEMA is worse than useless.

Trump had to scrounge around and get clever over a few billion for the wall, but no one (Congress, Media or the people) ask where they’re getting the money for the illegal immigrants invading our country? No reporting? Not even from the right? And then we find out they’re getting our taxpayer dollars from FEMA, money meant for people experiencing natural disasters. That is so f..k.d! $750 is such a kick in the face.
We all see the injustice, and we all want to fix it. California lost millions that were supposed to help the homeless, and the list goes on and on...
Abolish all the government programs and agencies designed to help.
A federal tax rate of 5% would probably support protection from crime and aggressive countries.
Every person in the US would have 10% more income. 10% would make a nice tithe.
Many feel FEMA should be disbanded in favor of United Cajun Navy;)
Charity is best coming from volunteers.
Fema has none.
Volunteers only have one form of payment, gratification of a job well done.
This illustrates why nobody in gov't can be allowed to possess one cent more than their poorest constituent.
Another lesson we have learned is that Christ never told us to help thy neighbor after the government helps them.
The onus is on us, not the government. That's exactly what we have learned as a new revelation for the entire nation ❤️
I have been wondering about the tiny houses the Amish set up. The local bean counters had them destroyed on the grounds that they lacked electricity and running water.
Would it be possible to take up a collection to have those things installed? The Amish--bless their kind hearts--probably don't know about it. Being Amish. But it's easy to install electric heat, lighting and even water systems and toilets similar to campers as far as tiny homes go. Much cheaper than you would think.
The Amish knows all the rules. Just today, the word is that the local government is trying to get the RVs out of there, too 🤷♀️

I wonder if the Ashville bureaucrats are being bribed. They should be investigated. If nothing else, residents could bring down public pressure on any offenders by exposing their dirty deeds to daylight. It's harder for small time crooks to hide than big players like Pelosi, Whitmer and Newsom.
What gets me on that is why there was no local resistance from the people and the sheriffs?

Unfortunately, some have already died. And the hopelessness is such that people are committing suicide, especially more likely to get worse with Christmas, when suicide rates skyrocket. God help us so we can help them! 🙌
Well, having lived on the Gulf coast and in Louisiana, I know these people are resilient. Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problem. As with anything, the strong will survive.
